- Abadan Petrochemical Company: in late 1963 (1342 Solar Hijri) the French Petroleum Institute was commissioned, through the Plan and Budget Organization, to carry out comprehensive studies on the location for establishing petrochemical industries in Iran. These studies led to the founding of Abadan Petrochemical Company, with a 74 percent share held by the National Petrochemical Industries Company and a 26 percent share by the American B.F. Goodrich Company.
