It all started with an experience
Fundai's story goes back to 2011 (1390 in the Iranian calendar). That year we entered the capital market with our personal savings.
Like many newcomers, we picked shares mostly on the advice of friends and people around us. Our buy and sell decisions were not necessarily based on careful review and analysis.
We bought shares on what we heard, not on knowing the company.
Those same years
45% of our capital, one big lesson
Markets do not always go as expected. In the sharp market fall of those years, we lost about 45% of our capital.
That experience changed how we saw investing. We learned that to do better in the market, you cannot rely only on what you hear and on other people's advice.
You have to know companies, and the real state of their business, much better.
From that point on, we started learning fundamental and technical analysis and investing far more seriously.
After that fall
Learning fundamental and technical analysis
We started reading two kinds of data. The first is trading data: price, volume, and who bought or sold. Reading it is called technical analysis.
The second is how the business actually performs: what raw materials the company buys, what it produces, and how much revenue and profit it makes. That is fundamental analysis, and its main source is the reports companies publish on Codal.
A complete decision comes from putting both kinds of data side by side.
The early years
The days of Excel files
In the early years, reviewing companies was entirely manual. We gathered financial statements, monthly reports and share prices, and put them side by side in Excel files to analyse and compare companies.
It worked, but it had real limits: gathering the data and keeping it current took a lot of time, human errors crept in, and Excel itself fell short in places.
It worked, but every new company meant hours of new manual work.
An idea born from our own need
Around 2015 an idea took shape: if we took collecting, processing and analysing company data out of manual work and did it with software, we could reach a faster, more accurate and more useful way to analyse the market.
An idea that began as a fix for our own need slowly became a vision of a specialist tool for everyone active in the capital market.
The need we had was a need many others had too.
Fundai is born, from idea to build
In early 2019 (1398) we decided to build the idea for real. The first team came together, and the design and development of Fundai began.
The road had its challenges. Changing market conditions, especially the swings of 1399 (2020-21), delayed development and launch. According to TSETMC data, TEDPIX went from 508,662 on 5 Farvardin to 2,078,547 on 19 Mordad that year, and closed the year at 1,307,707.
The 1399 market showed once more how costly a decision without data can be.
Fundai's first version
After years of work, the first version of Fundai officially launched in mid 2024.
Its aim was to make analysis simpler: company data, structured and in one place, so you can review listed companies faster and compare them with each other.
Data we spent years gathering in Excel was now in one place, for everyone.
Version two, shaped by your feedback
But the road did not end there. Building on users' feedback and what we learned developing the product, we released Fundai's second version in September 2026.
This version redesigned the interface from the ground up and widened the analysis features and specialist filters.
Every Fundai version is shaped by the people who work with it every day.
